Board of Directors
58Introducing our Board of Directors!
The ETL Board of Directors is a commited group of volunteers! Board terms run three years, and, the Board oversees and guides the organization. ETL carries D&L insurance.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEMBERS:
Patricia Gorsun, Chair
- Patricia has stepped from her role as Chair Elect into the Chair position! Patty began working with ETL as a volunteer in April of 2007, helping with the office, filing, fundraising, and moral support. Patty has become orientated in the needs and the mission of ETL and has developed her own niche as a coordinator for corporate development and connections for ETL. Her board term began September 27th, 2007. Patty's position as Chair began October 5th, 2009.
Laurie Rowan Secretary
- Laurie has been a volunteer with ETL since 2003, participating in numerous fundraising events (such as a chowder fest), has baked for many student activities, bake sales, and special events, and has offered much moral support! Laurie is a retired teacher from the Kittery School System and has joined the Board for a three year term. Laurie began her term on September 27th, 2007.
Nathan Adams Member
- Nathan started with ETL as a student in 2004. He has accomplished much...his driver's license, graduation from high school, participation in a National Mentoring Conference, many Life Skills Trips, and participates in the Branching Out Mentoring Program. Nathan served a three year term on the Board, beginning in August of 2006, and, in September 2009, agreed to another term as Board Member.
Linda Higgins, Executive Director
- Linda founded ETL in 2003 and has served as Executive Director since that time. Linda is Acting Treasurer.
Jooson Kim, Member
- Jooson, after having served two years as Chair, has turned his mallet over to Patricia Gorsun and continues to be a strong supporter and active volunteer with ETL. Jooson and his brother are taking on more of the family business, We Care Cleaners, and that demands the majority of his time right now. Jooson became involved with ETL in 2004 as a donor. Jooson began asking questions about the organization, supported such activities as Life Skills Trips, and came to know about some of our students. As the relationship progressed, Jooson came onto the Board as Chair-Elect. Jooson's term as Chair began September 27th, 2007. He and his family business, We Care Cleaners, have helped ETL grow and expand through not only monetary support, but by offering use of building space for meetings, fundraiser participation, ideas, and friendship.
Elaine Barnett, Member
- Elaine recently moved back to Maine after living in Arizona for a number of years. She wanted to connect with community and has that opportunity through ETL. Elaine has worked on developing a photo album depicting the history of ETL. Elaine began her Board service in September of 2008.
